About e-Invoice in Malaysia
The e-invoicing system, implemented on August 1, 2024, has undergone significant changes since January 2025, with full implementation slated for July 1, 2026. These changes extend beyond just business compliance thresholds, impacting various aspects of the e-invoicing process.
Many organizations are grappling with confusion arising from these rapid changes. It is crucial for staff in accounting and other departments to possess essential knowledge about when to issue e-invoices to customers, when to issue self-billed invoices, and understanding situations where suppliers are not required to issue e-invoices.
